FAQ
What is GreenJ Jewellery made from?
I use only recycled sterling silver (silver 925) or purer (silver 950 or 999) to make all of my jewellery. You'll never find anything silver plated.
What makes my jewellery sustainable?
I only use recycled silver and chains made from recycled silver. This means it can be loved and enjoyed but also endlessly reworked into new pieces in the future. Not only that but I use plastic free packaging, ensuring that everything is recylcled/recyclable. My cotton bags are always GOTS assured cotton.
Will this jewellery discolour skin or tarnish?
Silver can tarnish but unlike rust it is a surface level reaction and can be easily reversed with silver polishing cloth without any loss of silver or weakening of the piece.
How to care for silver jewellery?
I strongly believe that my jewellery should be worn and loved, and the good news is that regularly wearing your pieces is the best way to prevent them tarnishing. In an ideal world sterling silver jewellery should be removed before coming into contact with certain chemicals including bleach, swimming pool chemicals and oils but I would recommend washing in warm soapy water and if necessary using a silver polishing cloth or other silver cleaner.
Is it possible to do commissions or custom pieces?
I do occasionally take on commissions so it's always worth getting in touch. More commonly I am happy to tweak my current designs to make them larger or smaller, to include more rings or to change the way a piece hangs.
How long does postage take?
All pieces are shipped within 3 working days using Royal Mail Second Class Post. For in stock items it is possible to upgrade this to First Class Post or Tracked 24 so please get in touch to find out if this is possible for your order.
